Food delivery giant Zomato has unveiled 'District', a new platform set to amalgamate several going-out services such as dining, movies, sports ticketing, live performances, shopping, and staycations, CEO Deepinder Goyal announced on Thursday.

In a note to shareholders following the company's first-quarter financial results, Goyal highlighted his vision for 'District', predicting it will evolve into Zomato's third major B2C enterprise.

Goyal mentioned that Zomato and Blinkit currently dominate home-based consumer services, but there remains substantial growth potential in the going-out sector. Zomato's dining-out business is already highly profitable, with a USD 500 million plus annual gross order value.

Goyal elaborated that 'District' will build on this success, incorporating additional services such as movie bookings, sports events, live performances, and staycations. The aim is to create a one-stop destination app for all going-out activities, positioning 'District' as a game changer in the sector.

Should Zomato execute this vision effectively, 'District' is poised to become the company’s third substantial B2C venture, Goyal affirmed.
