IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a new multi-year partnership with global NGO Action Against Hunger, aiming to tackle food insecurity and hunger worldwide. This initiative is part of IHG's broader Journey to Tomorrow responsible business plan, which seeks to improve the lives of 30 million people.

Global Challenge: With an estimated one in three people globally uncertain about their next meal due to poverty, conflict, inefficient food systems, and climate change, IHG's support is critical in addressing this crisis.

IHG's Contribution: IHG will fund Action Against Hunger's nutrition programs, particularly initiatives focused on early screening for malnutrition in children and providing lifesaving treatment. The partnership will also raise awareness and provide opportunities for IHG guests to contribute to the cause through donations of IHG One Rewards points. For instance, 10,000 points can fund the screening of approximately 124 children for malnutrition, while 7,500 points can support a child with nutritious food for six weeks.

Leadership Quotes:

Elie Maalouf, CEO, IHG Hotels & Resorts: "Food sits at the heart of our hotels and hospitality, nourishing people and communities. Despite global food production being sufficient to feed everyone, millions still suffer from food shortages. IHG is proud to support Action Against Hunger's life-saving work and aims to create lasting change in a world where everyone is nourished, welcomed, and respected."

Ashwini Kakkar, Chair, Action Against Hunger International Network: "Hunger is a widespread challenge, but with current advancements, we can end chronic hunger for everyone. IHG's support is crucial in advancing this vision and will significantly contribute to creating a world where every life is well-nourished."

Complementary Efforts: This partnership will enhance existing IHG initiatives focused on food security, including local food banks, No Kid Hungry in the US, OzHarvest in Australia, and Too Good To Go in Europe. These efforts aim to strengthen food systems through training, tools to reduce food waste, and diverting surplus food to those in need.

IHG's partnership with Action Against Hunger represents a significant commitment to addressing global food insecurity and supporting life-saving nutrition programs. Through this collaboration, IHG aims to leverage its global presence and resources to make a meaningful impact on the fight against hunger.
