Reliance Industries Tops Indian Firms on Fortune Global 500
Reliance Industries Ltd has climbed to No.86 on the 2024 Fortune Global 500 list, making it the highest-ranked Indian firm. The company has consistently improved its ranking, advancing 69 positions over three years. The 2024 list features nine Indian firms, with Reliance showcasing significant revenue and profit growth.
Reliance Industries Ltd continues its impressive ascent on the Fortune Global 500 list, securing the No.86 spot in 2024. The company, which ranked No.88 last year, has made a remarkable jump of 69 places since 2021.
According to Fortune, Reliance has appeared on the list for 21 years, boasting revenues of USD 108.8 billion and profits of USD 8.4 billion last year. The 2024 list includes nine Indian firms, with five from the public sector. Notably, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) rose 12 positions to No.95.
US retailer Walmart retains the top spot for the 11th consecutive year, while Amazon climbed to No.2. The list also highlights significant movements among other global corporations, including Saudi Aramco, which, despite dropping to No.4, remains the most profitable company.
