Eicher Motors Reports Strong Q1 Financial Performance with 20% PAT Increase
Eicher Motors announced a significant 20% increase in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for Q1 2024, reaching Rs 1,101 crore, driven by higher sales. The company's revenue from operations also saw an uptick to Rs 4,393 crore, with Royal Enfield motorcycle sales contributing notably. VECV also reported growth in revenue and vehicle sales.
Eicher Motors announced a 20% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 1,101 crore for the quarter ending June 2024. This increase was bolstered by higher sales volumes.
The company had previously reported a PAT of Rs 918 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Revenue from operations also climbed to Rs 4,393 crore, up from Rs 3,986 crore in the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.
Royal Enfield, Eicher's two-wheeler division, recorded sales of 2,27,736 motorcycles in Q1, slightly higher than the 2,25,368 units sold in the same period last year. Meanwhile, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicle (VECV) posted a 2% revenue increase to Rs 5,070 crore and saw PAT jump to Rs 319 crore compared to Rs 181 crore last year. VECV sold 19,702 vehicles, a marginal increase from 19,571 units last fiscal.
Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors, confirmed a strong product pipeline for the year, announcing the upcoming launch of the 2024 Classic. VE Commercial Vehicles achieved its best-ever Q1 sales, gaining traction in key segments. Shares of Eicher Motors closed 0.46% down at Rs 4,578.80 on the BSE.
