Tragic Bus Accident in Turkiye Leaves Nine Dead, Dozens Injured
A bus travelling between cities in Turkiye crashed into an overpass pillar, killing nine people and injuring at least 26 others. The incident occurred near Polatli, and an investigation is underway. Officials suggest the driver might have dozed off as there were no skid marks found.
Turkiye witnessed a tragic bus accident on Friday as a vehicle swerved off a highway and collided with an overpass pillar, resulting in nine fatalities, according to official reports.
The incident took place close to the town of Polatli, roughly 80 kilometres from Ankara. The bus was en route from Izmir to Agri, spanning the width of the nation from west to east.
A deputy chief prosecutor has been designated to investigate the cause of the crash, which also left 26 people injured. Governor Vasip Sahin stated that the absence of skid marks suggests that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Injured passengers were taken to hospitals in Polatli and Ankara for treatment.
