A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday when a pickup van collided with a tree, killing two people and injuring 17 others. Police reported that the vehicle was carrying devotees heading to a religious event in Sitapur from Haridwar.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena stated that the driver likely fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the unfortunate incident. The deceased individuals were identified as Radheshyam and Bairamo, both 50 years old.

Among the injured, 10 were women, adding to the gravity of the situation. Authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
