Today marks the commencement of the 2nd India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) in Singapore, a significant step in the strategic partnership between the two nations. Singapore's delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, includes heavyweights such as Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Home Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam.

India's delegation features prominent figures including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar. The roundtable aims to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors, review progress since the inaugural meeting in New Delhi in 2022, and chart a new course for future collaboration.

Singapore is a key partner for India, being the largest source of foreign direct investment and a significant trade partner. Discussions will focus on strategies to further strengthen trade and investment ties, leveraging India's dynamic growth. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has already engaged with global business leaders, emphasizing mutual growth and innovations. The ministers will also explore collaborations in advanced learning environments to foster mutual economic and strategic growth.
