Vistara-Air India Merger: Bookings Redirected to Air India from November 2024

TATA SIA Airlines Limited, operating as Vistara, announced its merger with Air India on Friday. The company confirmed that starting September 3, 2024, customers will progressively be unable to book Vistara flights for travel from November 12, 2024.
Until November 11, 2024, Vistara will continue its usual bookings and operations. Post this date, all Vistara aircraft will be managed by Air India, with bookings redirected to Air India's website. Both airlines assured that during the transition period, they will provide comprehensive support and consistent communication to all customers.
Vinod Kannan, CEO of Vistara, expressed gratitude to customers and emphasized that the merger aims to offer greater choice with a larger fleet and broader network, enhancing the overall travel experience. Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India, highlighted the collaborative efforts of both airlines to ensure a seamless transition. They aim to deliver an expanded network, more flight options, and an improved frequent flyer program.
Both companies received the CAR 145 approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on August 10, allowing them to integrate their aircraft line maintenance operations.
