Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized India's remarkable economic journey, highlighting the country's foreign exchange reserves surge to USD 680 billion. Speaking at the inauguration of Uttar Pradesh Sainik School in Gorakhpur, Dhankhar remarked on India's progress since a time when it had to pledge its gold to survive a financial crisis.
Dhankhar credited the turnaround to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and acknowledged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vital contributions. He pointed out the significant improvements in education, medicine, and entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh since 2017, noting the state's evolution from an era of fear and poor law and order.
Praising the swift establishment of the Sainik School, Dhankhar underscored its role in the nation's future. The school, built in just three years, aims to provide residential education and shape future defenders of the nation. Dhankhar's visit also included accolades for the Gita Press and recognition of historical figures instrumental to Uttar Pradesh's development.
