Retail inflation for industrial workers inched up marginally to 2.44% in August, compared to 2.15% in July this year.
The All-India CPI-IW (Consumer Price Index-Industrial Workers) for August 2024 decreased by 0.1 points and stood at 142.6 points, according to a labour ministry statement.
The CPI-IW was recorded at 142.7 in July 2024. Year-on-year inflation for August 2024 was at 2.44%, significantly lower than the 6.91% registered in August 2023. The Labour Bureau, a division of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, gathers these figures monthly from 317 markets across 88 important industrial centers in the country.
