A CNG tank exploded in the Najafgarh area of Delhi on Wednesday morning, leaving one person injured, officials from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reported. The victim, identified as Sanjay, sustained minor injuries and was sent home after receiving treatment.

'We received a call regarding a blast in a vehicle CNG tank at 6.55 am and immediately dispatched three fire tenders,' a DFS official said. The incident took place in Mitrao village while the tank was being refilled, they added.

The police later confirmed that the explosion involved a truck, not a car as initially reported. 'A CNG cylinder installed on the left side of the truck exploded during refilling, causing significant damage to the truck, the CNG pump machine, and the surrounding area,' a police statement said. An investigation is ongoing.
