HERE Technologies Launches EV Charge-Aware Routing in India

HERE Technologies, a leader in location data and technology, has launched its EV charge-aware routing service in India. The announcement coincides with the rapid growth of electric vehicle (EV) sales in the country, which saw a near doubling in 2023 and is expected to grow by 66% in 2024.

India's push for EV adoption, bolstered by government incentives, aims to curb carbon emissions and lessen dependency on fossil fuels. The new service by HERE provides dynamic routing tailored for EVs, factoring in battery status, available charging stations, and traffic conditions.

Abhijit Sengupta, Senior Director at HERE Technologies, stated that this innovation enhances the EV experience by mitigating range anxiety and ensuring drivers have real-time access to charging locations, thereby promoting sustainable transportation in India.
