A wave of bomb threats caused significant disruption across Indian airlines on Sunday, grounding numerous flights and affecting hundreds of passengers. Authorities were forced to deploy stringent security measures as planes were moved to isolation for detailed checks.
According to sources, the threats targeted flights from multiple carriers including IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, Akasa Air, and Air India Express. Thankfully, all threats were later revealed to be hoaxes, and passengers were safely disembarked without any incidents.
In response to the ongoing threat environment, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security convened with airline representatives to discuss new protocols. The aviation ministry plans to introduce tough measures against false bomb threats, possibly including placing offenders on no-fly lists.
