In a critical appeal to BRICS partners, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa urged collaboration to facilitate Africa's industrialization. Emphasizing the transformative power of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACTFA), he called for increasing investment in essential infrastructure like roads, ports, and telecommunications networks across the continent.
Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum in Kazan, Ramaphosa stressed the importance of supporting emerging sectors, particularly women-owned and small businesses, to ensure widespread benefits from ACTFA. He highlighted Africa's young, digitally engaged population as a key driver for future economic growth.
Ramaphosa commended the BRICS countries for their role in expanding global economic opportunities and underlined the need for further collaboration in digital technology and finance sectors. He expressed optimism about developments in cooperation, including potential advancements in e-commerce and local currency settlements.
