Sensex opens on positive note, surges 240 points

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Wednesday opened on a positive note during the morning session of the trade. The Sensex of the BSE opened at 36,181.37 points and touched a high of 36,250.54 points and a low of 36,166.63 points. On Tuesday, the Sensex closed at 35,980.93 points.
The Sensex is trading at 36,221.49 points up by 240.56 points or 0.67 per cent. On the other hand, the broader 50-scrip Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 10,862.40 points after closing at 10,802.15 points on Tuesday. The Nifty is trading at 10,865.90 points in the morning.
