Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced an increase in dearness allowance for government employees by seven percent, effective January 2025, bringing the total to 39 percent.
The Chief Minister highlighted government initiatives to support entrepreneurship. The Chief Minister's Entrepreneurship Support Scheme has already provided collateral-free loans to 426 internally displaced people, aiding their integration into successful start-ups.
Additionally, Singh announced collaborations with Air India, IndiGo, and Alliance Air to boost skills training and expand flight connections from Imphal. These efforts are backed by the Ministry of Tourism and focus on facilitating growth and employment in the region.
