Hyundai's Green Logistics: A Rail-Powered Revolution

Hyundai Motor India transported 1,56,724 units via rail freight in 2024, making up 26% of its domestic wholesale volume. This eco-friendly initiative led to a reduction of 18,352 tonnes of CO2 emissions, underscoring the company's commitment to sustainability and efficient logistics through the Indian Railways network.

Hyundai Motor India has announced that it transported 1,56,724 units via rail freight in 2024, accounting for a significant 26% of its domestic wholesale volume. This strategic move highlights the auto manufacturer's commitment to eco-friendly logistics.

Leveraging the extensive Indian Railways network not only improved the efficiency of its operations but also resulted in a substantial environmental benefit by cutting 18,352 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions last year. Importantly, Hyundai achieved full dispatch of vehicles to the North-East region exclusively by rail.

'At Hyundai Motor India, sustainability is a core principle of our business strategy,' stated Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO. The government’s rail infrastructure upgrades are deemed crucial by the company for optimizing logistics, aiming at long-term emission reductions.
