Railway Revamp: Cuttack Station Facelift Diverts Trains

The East Coast Railway has announced a month-long diversion of three long-distance trains due to construction and safety work at Cuttack Station. Routes will bypass Cuttack, with temporary stops at Naraj Marthapur, and free bus services provided for affected passengers between Cuttack and Naraj.

The East Coast Railway has initiated temporary diversions of three major long-distance trains starting February 16, 2025, due to ongoing construction and modernisation efforts at Cuttack Railway Station, according to official sources.

During this period, these trains will bypass their usual routes via Cuttack, instead taking the Barang-Naraj Marthapur-Kapilas Road corridor. Temporary stops will be arranged at Naraj Marthapur, with commuting facilitated by a complimentary bus service between Cuttack and Naraj Marthapur for affected passengers.

This diversion will impact the Coimbatore-Silchar Weekly Super-Fast Express, the Ernakulam-Patna bi-weekly Express, and the Bengaluru-Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express, which will stop at Naraj Marthapur during the interim period. This measure aims to ensure smooth and safe transit amidst essential infrastructure upgrades at Cuttack Station.
