Railway Minister Enhances Train Services for Pilgrim Rush

Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw conducted a review of crowd management measures at Prayagraj's railway stations from the Rail Bhavan's war room on Wednesday.

He directed officials to deploy more trains catering to pilgrims in all directions. The Prayagraj division has been instructed to operate additional train services as necessary to alleviate passenger congestion and ensure comfort.

As of 6 PM on February 12, 2025, a total of 225 trains served over 12.46 lakh passengers, with the previous day's count reaching 343 trains and over 14.69 lakh passengers, according to a ministry press statement. The Indian Railways provides continuous train updates via special bulletins, social media, and other media outlets. Additional holding areas with facilities have been established to accommodate waiting passengers comfortably.
