London, Feb 14 (PTI) - In an effort to bolster the economic relationship between the UK and India, the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Alastair King, is embarking on a pivotal visit to the South Asian nation. As the 696th Lord Mayor, King's mission centers on opening dialogue and building momentum for increased bilateral trade and investment.

Arriving in Mumbai, King aims to engage with key financial entities such as the HDFC, State Bank of India, and the Reserve Bank of India. His visit underscores the strategic importance of the proposed India-UK Free Trade Agreement, which has been delayed due to electoral cycles in both nations.

As part of his 'Growth Unleashed' theme, King emphasizes the mutual benefits of strengthened partnerships in infrastructure, financial, and legal services. This initiative aligns with efforts to attract Indian investments into the UK, positioning London as a leading global financial hub.
