The seventh edition of the prestigious Sportstar Aces Awards took place in Mumbai at the iconic Taj Mahal Palace, assembling a constellation of India's sports luminaries. This annual gala recognized athletes for their remarkable achievements at both international and national levels.
PR Sreejesh, former Indian Hockey goalkeeper, was named Sportstar of the Year (Male), while double Paris Olympics medallist Manu Bhaker received the titles of Sportstar of the Year (Female) and Sportswoman of the Year in an Olympic Sport (Female). The Indian men's and women's chess teams, celebrated for their Budapest Chess Olympiad victory, jointly won the National Team of the Year award.
The event, chaired by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, saw a total of 17 awards given out, spanning individual and team accolades across various sports. Highlights included Jaspal Rana as Coach of the Year, PV Sindhu winning the Inspiration Icon Award, and ICC Chair Jay Shah receiving the Special Recognition Game Changer Award for advancing women's cricket.
