In a tragic turn of events, three Nepalese nationals lost their lives, and seven others were injured when their SUV collided with a tractor-trolley on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, police reported on Saturday.

The group was returning from Mahakumbh in Prayagraj on Friday night when the accident took place. Victims Harihar Devi and Vakilni Devi, both 42, along with Parshuram, 45, died at the scene, according to police officials. The injured have been identified as Upendra Yadav, Lalu Devi, Jeetu Yadav, and Mukeya, who were quickly transported to the district hospital.

Additional Superintendent of Police (South) Jitendra Kumar detailed that 10 devotees from Nepal had embarked on a spiritual journey using a rented Scorpio. Upon returning, the driver, unable to control the speeding SUV, collided with the unlit tractor-trolley. Reflector absence on the trolley further complicated nighttime visibility. The bodies were sent for postmortem, and the injured are under medical care.
