The Adani Group has announced a landmark Rs 50,000 crore investment in the state of Assam, targeting major infrastructure sectors such as airports, city gas distribution, and road projects. This announcement was made by Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025, held in Guwahati.
Expressing his optimism about Assam's development potential, Adani declared, "We are privileged to play a part in Assam’s journey towards progress. Today, I am proud to affirm the Adani Group's commitment to invest Rs 50,000 crore, which will serve as a catalyst for the state's growth and its economic upliftment."
Adani also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for pioneering an investment-driven approach to economic growth, reminiscent of the initiatives in Gujarat. He noted that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit of 2003 was the genesis of widespread adoption of similar economic strategies across India, praising the Prime Minister for spearheading this transformative movement.
Adani further acknowledged the natural beauty and cultural significance of Assam, including the Kamakhya Temple and the Brahmaputra River. He likened Assam's transformation to the river's ability to carve new paths, attributing such possibilities to Prime Minister Modi's vision.
This substantial investment by the Adani Group is anticipated to bolster Assam's infrastructure, generate employment, and enhance the economic landscape of the state. By undertaking major projects across crucial sectors, the Adani Group aims to be a key player in Assam's developmental trajectory.
