In a move poised to transform India's energy landscape, EDF India announced a strategic joint venture with Actis, a global investor in sustainable infrastructure. The partnership, focused on Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider concessions, highlights the companies' shared commitment to enhancing the Indian power sector by investing in energy solutions and infrastructure.

The initiative is part of India's National Smart Metering Project under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. State-of-the-art metering solutions aim to boost operational efficiency, cut technical and commercial losses, and improve financial stability for power distribution firms. Federico D'Amico, CEO of EDF India, emphasized the importance of their collaboration with Actis for advancing smart metering infrastructure nationwide.

Asanka Rodrigo, Partner at Actis, noted that smart metering is crucial for optimizing energy consumption and increasing billing accuracy. This joint venture represents a significant step forward in their ongoing commitment to India's energy sector.
