On Monday, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein presented the assembly with an ambitious budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, emphasizing social and economic empowerment.
Labeling the initiative a 'transformative step' for the state's development, Mein outlined the government's commitment to enhancing human capital through skills development, technological progress, and entrepreneurship. In a nod to this, 2025-26 has been declared the 'Year of Human Capital'.
The budget for 2025-26 anticipates revenue receipts of Rs 34,544.07 crore and capital receipts of Rs 5,298.16 crore, totaling Rs 39,842.23 crore, up 11.16% from last year's estimates. Capital allocations touch various sectors, including Rs 369 crore for health and Rs 3,000 crore for education, promising a significant investment in infrastructure and prosperity.
