Inauguration of Godrej's Pioneering Greenfield Plant in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin officially inaugurated a cutting-edge integrated greenfield plant by Godrej Consumer Products in Chengalpattu district, near Chennai. The plant, realized with a Rs 515 crore investment, is expected to generate over 1,000 jobs, highlighting an emphasis on inclusive employment opportunities.
Spanning 27 acres in Thiruporur taluk, the facility was developed within a swift 13 months, a testament to efficient project management and execution. It marks the single largest investment by Godrej to boost its production capabilities and was inaugurated in the presence of prominent figures including Godrej Industries Group chairperson Nadir Godrej and other key officials.
Chief Minister Stalin emphasized the Dravidian model government's commitment to equitable growth and social justice, noting the plant's role in advancing Tamil Nadu's economic aspirations. This new facility will produce a range of Godrej products, with the inaugural production run rolling out the first Cinthol Original soap bar, signifying a milestone in the plant's operations.
