Uttar Pradesh: From BIMARU to Economic Dynamo

Uttar Pradesh has transformed from a laggard state to a key economic driver of India, thanks to policies introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the progress made since the NDA government came to power in 2017, particularly in the agriculture sector.

Uttar Pradesh, a state once marked as a lagging region, has now risen to the forefront of India's economic growth. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies for the state's progress during a press conference in Lucknow.

Highlighting the shift since 2017, Adityanath emphasized the economic transformation courtesy of reforms under the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government. The state, formerly part of the 'BIMARU' regions, has emerged as a cornerstone of the national economy.

The Chief Minister detailed the revival of the agricultural sector, noting that reforms have notably increased the state's agricultural growth rate from 5% in 2016-17 to over 13.5%. These changes began with a significant farmer's loan waiver, leading to a 20% rise in food grain production.
