Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has endorsed the railway ministry's initiative to build three new stations in the state. Addressing queries from opposition MLAs, he highlighted the strategic importance of these additions to the railway infrastructure.
These stations at Neura, Sarzora, and Mayem are intended as crossing points rather than passenger hubs, aiming to alleviate delays on the Konkan Railway route. The existing proximity to other stations raised questions among opposing MLAs, but Sawant clarified their necessity for streamlined operations.
The Chief Minister assured that no additional land acquisition is required, and these stations will enable the introduction of new trains, reducing road traffic and facilitating faster travel across Goa.
