The Big Apple Loses Out: NYSE's New Texas Venture

President Donald Trump has openly criticized the move to establish a New York Stock Exchange branch in Dallas, describing it as a major blow to New York City. His remarks highlight concerns about the impact on the city's financial prestige.

Trump's comments came in a post on Truth Social, where he exclaimed disbelief at the decision, labeling it a major test for New York's new mayor. Intercontinental Exchange, which owns the NYSE, had announced plans for a secondary listing venue in Texas last year.

Despite these concerns, NYSE Texas officially commenced operations earlier in 2025. Within its initial three months, the exchange saw dual listings from prominent companies, including oilfield service giant Halliburton and Trump Media & Technology Group. Neither Intercontinental Exchange nor the New York mayor's office have responded to requests for comment on the situation.
