President Xi Jinping has assured support for Bangladesh's interim government, led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, signaling a pivotal enhancement in economic relations. This was confirmed after a bilateral meeting in Beijing, as Xi highlighted his interest in relocating manufacturing enterprises to Bangladesh and allowing duty-free access to their products.
Yunus, on his diplomatic visit to China, attended the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in Hainan before engaging in discussions with Xi. During the discussions, Xi committed to resolving numerous bilateral issues, including support for infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, aiming at elevating economic and diplomatic ties.
As part of this newfound cooperation, Bangladesh is set to enjoy duty-free and quota-free access to the Chinese market until 2028.
