In a significant boost for Bharti Airtel, the telecom giant reported a fivefold increase in consolidated net profit, reaching Rs 11,022 crore for the March quarter. This comes on the heels of a strategic tariff hike earlier this year, which has substantially bolstered the company's revenues.
Compared to the net profit of Rs 2,071.6 crore during the same period last year, Airtel's financial growth reflects the impact of the July tariff revision. Revenue from operations saw a year-on-year increase of 27% to Rs 47,876.2 crore, according to the company's latest regulatory filing.
With an expanded Indian subscriber base of 42.4 crore and average revenue per user climbing nearly 17% to Rs 245, Airtel's annual revenue climbed 15.33% to Rs 1,72,985.2 crore. This marked a fourfold annual net profit increase, reinforcing its strong market position.
