A clash between a Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) and a head constable of the Government Railway Police (GRP) has sparked safety concerns among railway staff in the Jhansi Division. The altercation allegedly occurred when the constable, traveling without a ticket, assaulted the TTE who requested to see his ticket.
The incident has prompted a swift response from railway authorities, with the National President of the Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organisation demanding strict action against the constable, claiming the event poses a serious safety threat to railway personnel.
The incident has also renewed calls for the implementation of body cameras for TTEs to ensure transparency and safety. Authorities have launched an investigation, and disciplinary actions against the GRP personnel involved are under consideration.
