Maharashtra's 'Maitri' Portal Revolutionizes Industrial Approvals

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared that all permissions required for industrial projects would henceforth be accessible online via the 'Maitri' portal. This strategic move is designed to expedite approvals, thereby easing business operations in the state.
Addressing a high-level meeting, Fadnavis emphasized the critical role of timely access to essential services, citing water supply, connectivity, and environmental clearances as pivotal to Maharashtra's ambition to become a USD 1 trillion economy. He directed relevant departments to facilitate online clearances through the portal and proposed mechanisms for anonymous grievance submissions.
The Chief Minister also underscored the necessity for adequate water and power provision in industrial zones and urged the completion of infrastructure improvements like the Shendra-Bidkin connectivity. To further enhance the business climate, he called for a review of permissions and a consolidated policy on land allotment.
