Jammu Cracks Down on Unauthorized Vehicle Modifications

The Jammu administration has banned the sale and purchase of motor vehicle accessories used for unauthorized modifications. This decision follows a traffic police seizure of modified vehicles, targeting unauthorized accessories like oversized tyres and pressure horns. The ban aims to enforce adherence to manufacturer specifications in the Jammu District.

The Jammu administration has imposed a ban on the sale, purchase, storage, distribution, and display of motor vehicle accessories intended for unauthorized modifications.

This order, issued by Jammu District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya, is enforced under Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act and applies immediately within the Jammu District.

The crackdown follows the recent seizure of numerous modified vehicles by the Traffic Police. Authorities highlighted that local vendors sell items altering vehicle specifications, such as oversized tyres, pressure horns, and high-intensity lights.
