In a significant boost to railway connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate a new Vande Bharat Express train route between Amritsar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on August 10. This development was confirmed by the Jammu Rail Division.
The advanced train service is expected to offer passengers a more comfortable and quicker journey to the famous shrine, located in Jammu and Kashmir. According to Uchit Singhal, senior divisional commercial manager of the Jammu Division, the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express will cater to the needs of the numerous pilgrims and tourists visiting the sacred site.
The train will operate six days a week, with the service from Katra to Amritsar departing in the morning, and the return leg from Amritsar to Katra in the evening. With several planned stops along the route, this new service promises to enhance travel efficiency and passenger comfort.
