During a session in the Upper House, BJP Rajya Sabha member from Manipur, Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, pressed the government for faster completion of the Jiribam-Imphal railway line project. Leishemba emphasized the necessity of a two-pronged construction approach, beginning from both Jiribam and Imphal, to avert delays.
Besides logistical challenges, Leishemba pointed out that road transport in the region is severely impacted by natural and social adversities, making the railway line an essential infrastructure upgrade for Manipur. The project's current progress is solely from the Jiribam side, risking further delays unless simultaneous efforts are initiated.
Meanwhile, BJP member K Laxman highlighted the growing concerns over online gaming and betting addiction, advocating for government intervention through a nationwide digital de-addiction campaign. AAP member Raghav Chadha suggested offering free access to advanced generative AI for Indians, ensuring the nation harnesses AI's economic potential by 2030.
