Uttarakhand's Financial Triumph: Revenue Surplus Achieved

Uttarakhand has been declared a revenue-surplus state, with Rs 5,310 crore reported in 2022-23. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attributes this achievement to effective governance and a commitment to economic self-reliance. The state joins 15 others with a net positive revenue standing, according to the Comptroller and Auditor General.

In a significant development, Uttarakhand has emerged as a revenue-surplus state, amassing a surplus of Rs 5,310 crore for the fiscal year 2022-23. This achievement is credited to the state’s robust governance policies, as highlighted by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report released recently.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his satisfaction, noting that Uttarakhand's financial success aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India. Dhami emphasized that this is not merely a statistical feat but a meaningful stride toward the state's economic self-reliance and prosperity.

According to CAG data, 16 out of 28 Indian states, including Uttarakhand, achieved a revenue surplus by March 31, 2023. Chief Minister Dhami reaffirmed the government's dedication to fostering transparency, accountability, and financial discipline to elevate Uttarakhand as a developed and financially independent state.
