Pilgrims Injured in Highway Bus Mishap
A bus carrying 52 passengers overturned on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway while avoiding a cow, injuring 18 pilgrims. The accident occurred at 2 am near Sultanpur district. Eighteen pilgrims sustained injuries when their bus overturned on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway in Sultanpur district, police reported on Friday. The incident unfolded at 2 am near the Bhulki-Saurmau bypass overbridge.
The vehicle, en route from Bahraich to Prayagraj with 52 passengers onboard, lost control while attempting to avoid a cow crossing the road. It subsequently flipped over, leading to the reported injuries.
Station House Officer Akhand Dev Mishra coordinated the rescue efforts, transporting the injured to a local hospital with assistance from onlookers and law enforcement. Following medical attention, the passengers continued their journey. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has mandated expedited medical support and expressed wishes for a rapid recovery of the injured.
