A tragic accident unfolded in Manoharpur when a private bus caught fire after contacting a hanging wire, resulting in two fatalities and injuries to ten others, authorities reported on Tuesday.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Tejpal Singh, the bus was transporting laborers from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, to a brick kiln. The incident occurred as the bus's rooftop items struck a high tension line on a village's 'kaccha' road, igniting a fire.
Some passengers managed to escape before the blaze was extinguished. The injured were taken to Shahpura's government hospital, with six later transferred to SMS hospital in Jaipur. In response, Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Prem Chand Bairwa announced an investigation into the cause of the fire.
