Ryanair Penalized with Slot Loss at Eindhoven Airport
Ryanair, the low-cost Irish airline, has lost two landing slots at Eindhoven Airport. The slots were revoked by Airport Coordination Netherlands due to frequent late arrivals of flights from Sofia and Pisa. The decision, initially reported by Eindhovens Dagblad, marks a rare penalty for the airline.
Ryanair, the renowned Irish low-cost airline, has been penalized with the loss of two landing slots at Eindhoven Airport. The decision was made by Airport Coordination Netherlands (ACNL), a regulatory body responsible for assigning airport slots, and follows recurrent late arrivals by the airline.
The announcement was first reported by the Dutch newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad. ACNL identified persistent delays in Ryanair's Monday evening flights from Sofia, Bulgaria, and Thursday evening flights from Pisa, Italy, leading to this uncommon disciplinary action.
As a result of these consistent delays, Ryanair has been removed from the respective slots for the next summer's schedule. The airline has yet to respond to requests for comment.
