An electric DTC bus veered off its path in north Delhi's Shastri Nagar on Tuesday morning, resulting in injuries to a fruit seller and a lineman. The bus broke a railing before mounting the central divider, said the police.

The incident, close to Nagia Park, was reported at 9:54 am. The bus, traveling between Sarai Rohilla and Rana Pratap Bagh, lost control, injuring 65-year-old fruit vendor Rahis Ahmed from Shakti Nagar and 50-year-old lineman Bishram from Sarai Basti. Both sustained head injuries, authorities stated.

Both victims were initially taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, with Rahis later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for further treatment. The driver, Pradeep Kumar, 38, from Rajouri Garden, was arrested. He has been a contract driver with Delhi Transport Corporation for six months.
