The Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF) has announced a pause on its decision regarding potential milk price hikes until the conclusion of local elections in the state. This was confirmed by KCMMF Chairman KS Mani at a press conference on Monday.
Mani explained that a committee had already studied and submitted a report on the proposed price increase to the board. Despite the board's initial plans to discuss the report, a revision in the GST rates prompted a decision to delay the matter.
Although GST adjustments and milk pricing are not directly linked, this decision was made to ensure careful consideration. Farmers are advocating for a Rs 5-6 increase per litre, but the final decision awaits post-election board meetings.
