State-owned AI Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) is actively supporting airlines in implementing necessary system modifications on A320 family aircraft. This comes in response to Airbus flagging a potential problem with the flight controls on these planes due to intense solar radiation.
The issue affects 338 A320 aircraft operated by Indian carriers such as IndiGo, Air India, and Air India Express, with more than half having already undergone software upgrades or hardware realignment, according to DGCA data.
Addressing the situation, AIESL CEO Sharad Agarwal emphasized their readiness and commitment to ensuring no aircraft remains grounded due to lack of support. The modifications must be completed by November 30, governed by directives from Airbus and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
