Russia's Drone Recruitment Drive Entices Students with Tempting Offers
Russian students are being recruited with significant financial incentives to join drone units in Ukraine, as Russia looks to bolster its forces without a full-scale mobilization. Universities offer benefits like tuition exemptions, accommodation, and high salaries. The recruitment targets students with technical skills, highlighting the role of drone warfare.
Amidst ongoing military actions in Ukraine, Russia is offering attractive financial incentives to its students, urging them to become drone operators and engineers. Documents reveal that companies, especially in central Ryazan, have recruitment quotas for military personnel.
The move is part of Moscow's strategy to strengthen its ranks during the fifth year of war without initiating a broader conscription, despite claims from Ukraine about significant Russian troop losses. Over 80,000 individuals have enlisted this year, according to Dmitry Medvedev.
Universities are participating in this drive by promising academic leave, financial compensation, and other benefits. A new recruitment campaign targets students with expertise in technical fields, underscoring their vital role in drone operations. Local government efforts in Ryazan also aim to fulfill these recruitment quotas.
