Uttarakhand Boosts Sugarcane Prices to Empower Farmers
Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a significant hike in the State Advised Price for sugarcane for the 2025-26 season, aiming to empower farmers and strengthen the agricultural economy. Prices have risen to Rs 405 per quintal for early varieties and Rs 395 for normal types.
The Uttarakhand government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has set new State Advised Prices (SAP) for sugarcane for the upcoming 2025-26 crushing season.
The announcement details a notable increase, with early maturing varieties priced at Rs 405 per quintal and normal varieties at Rs 395, marking a Rs 30 hike from the previous season.
Dhami emphasized that this adjustment not only promises financial relief for farmers but also aims to invigorate the state's agricultural sector by fostering sugarcane production.
