In a substantial move towards maritime cooperation, India and Russia have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on training specialists for vessels operating in the challenging polar regions.
The agreement took center stage amid Russian President Vladimir Putin's two-day official visit to India, during which he participated in high-level discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to a joint statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, the MoU aims to enhance expertise in polar shipping, an increasingly strategic area in global navigation and trade.
