In response to widespread disruption affecting thousands of passengers, the civil aviation ministry has mandated that IndiGo, the nation's largest airline, complete all refund processes for cancelled flights by Sunday evening.

This directive follows the cancellation of over 1,000 flights, marking the fifth consecutive day of significant operational issues for the airline. More than 400 flights were reported cancelled on Saturday alone. Further compounding the situation, the ministry insisted on no rescheduling charges for impacted passengers.

IndiGo has been instructed to establish dedicated support cells for refunds and alternative travel arrangements to avoid lengthy processes for affected passengers. The ministry emphasized that any delay or non-compliance could lead to swift regulatory action. Moreover, baggage separated from passengers must be returned within 48 hours.
