In a bid to alleviate the travel crises caused by IndiGo's widespread flight disruptions, the East Coast Railway's Waltair Division is introducing special train services. These efforts come as thousands of passengers are left stranded due to continued flight cancellations and delays by the airline.
Beginning December 8, one of the six special trains will depart from the economic hub of Visakhapatnam to SMVT Bengaluru. This service is designed to handle the overflow of passengers affected by the abrupt travel disruptions observed in recent days.
Amidst the chaos, railway officials are closely assessing the situation, ensuring sufficient train capacity and exploring further collaboration with other zones to meet passenger demands. Meanwhile, the ministry has mandated IndiGo to expedite refunds and promptly return misplaced luggage to passengers.
