The crisis was attributed to IndiGo's failure to adapt to new, stricter pilot duty regulations, leading to a shortage of pilots, numerous flight cancellations, and significant delays. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken action in response to the disruptions, which caused chaos among passengers.

Sood stressed the importance of empathy, urging the public not to direct anger toward ground staff who are also bearing the brunt of the cancellations. He advocated for calmness and respect towards airport staff during this challenging time.
