In response to widespread disruptions in air travel, a parliamentary panel is gearing up to summon senior figures from IndiGo and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The aim is to address recent mass cancellations that have left thousands of travelers stranded nationwide.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture, led by JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha, seeks a comprehensive explanation from both airline executives and government officials. The committee is keen on understanding the causes behind the service interruptions and exploring potential solutions.
The situation has grown increasingly dire, with more than 220 flights canceled at major hubs in Delhi and Mumbai. In response, the DGCA has issued notices to IndiGo’s top management, while larger calls for a joint parliamentary or judicial inquiry resonate across the political landscape.
